Garlic Cheese Bread
OMG. Can I give something 15 stars?! I had some garlic cheese bread at Dominos this weekend which was very good...and I don't usually like Dominos. Then low and behold I watched the Pioneer Woman make some on my dvr, and it looked very similar. So I gave it a go.
I would have never guessed the "secret" binding ingredient*, and it goes so well.....
Ingredients
3-1/2 cups Cheddar Cheese
3/4 cups mozzerella
1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese
1/2 cup Mayo (I use the olive oil kind)*
1 dash Salt
1 loaf Crusty French Bread
1 stick Butter
4tbs miced Garlic
Preparation Instructions
Mix cheeses with the mayo. Add dash of salt to taste and set aside or keep in fridge until you need it.
Cut loaf of bread in half, then each half into half again.
Working 1/4 loaf at a time, melt 2 tablespoons butter in a skillet and add 1/4 of the minced garlic. Place 1 of the 1/4 loaves face down in the skillet, swirling it to soak up the butter and garlic. Allow bread to toast in the skillet, removing garlic if it starts to get too brown.
Repeat with remaining butter, garlic, and bread.
Spread cheese mixture on loaves and bake at 425 degrees until cheese is melted (about 10 minutes)
If you wanted some bacon pieces or jalepeno pieces it could spice it up a little for you too! Did I say YUM?
5Stars-- One bite in and Caden was asking if I could make this again tomorrow!!!
We also used some french bread to make some individual pizzas. We topped them with a jar of pizza sauce, turkey sausage, green olives, mushrooms, mozzerella, and pepperjack. They were MIGHTY tasty and came in with a CalorieCount of 248 (for 1/8 of the french bread, cut in 4ths and then halved)
